I like this composition, particularly the juxtaposition of the in-drawn model and the exuberance of the horse. Putting the girl on the solid rock while the horse flies across the open grass heightens this contrast.
A couple of technical details that may improve this image - you might try running the blur tool around the edges of each image to soften, or alternately, using layer masks and a small soft brush set at 20-30% opacity to gently merge the images to lose that "cut-out" look. Also, the girl's shadow is appropriate under her, but not on top of her ankles and on up the front side. If you're using drop shadow, right click on it and choose "create a layer" then gently remove the extra shadow area with a layer mask.
Over-all this is a very nice image. I really like the story here.
That bent leg does look a little odd with the drop shadow. Look carefully at the original model so that you see how the shadow falls underneath the foot.
Thank you - I have been going through an extremely 'dry patch', and have never manipulated horses before, always believing them to be too difficult, but was determined to complete this challenge
